I started Rancho Bombero to tap into the past. Growing up in Virginia in a biracial family, I was introduced to self-care at an early age. My mother, Gwendolyn, played a big role in that, always making homemade oils and natural remedies for the scars and blemishes I would get horsing around. These weren’t just quick fixes—they were traditions passed down through generations of southern black women, using practical organic ingredients to heal and nourish the body. In my early 30s, I found myself going back to those roots, realizing how much more I needed to focus on caring for myself.

It hit me that there could be a simple, all-in-one solution for men like me—something to fight aging, smooth wrinkles, boost hair volume, and hydrate the skin, all while keeping our pH balance in check. So, I started experimenting with different oils, looking for that perfect combination. What came out of that process was a product that’s straightforward, natural, and effective, just what I had been searching for. I also wanted the oil to have a scent that I could carry with me all day, but wasn’t overpowering and instead felt wearable and natural, similar to a musk, but with some citrus.

These days, we’re taught to believe that properly caring for our skin and hair can only be accomplished through multiple products. For my lifestyle and many like me, this sort of complex routine just isn’t possible. Now, I want to share this solution with other men who want to take care of themselves without complicating things.

I look forward to hearing how you use Rancho Bombero in your daily routine.

Born and raised in California by immigrant parents, my childhood was steeped in the natural remedies they brought with them. Our garden was a sanctuary of healing plants—aloe vera, mint, cacti, cucumber, and more. Whether it was a salve for cuts, a remedy for sunburns, antioxidants, or teas for sore throats and fevers, holistic cures were always within reach. The wisdom of natural healing was passed down through generations, shaping my understanding of wellness. Rancho Bombero is the culmination of this shared history and friendship and I know you'll find a place for it within your self-care as well.
